Mudangs are my Korean shaman ancestors. For thousands of years, mudangs having been getting up in front of others and then channeling spirits of loved ones and the divine. Often theatrical storytelling in voice, body, and movement. An ecstatic and fully embodied one man show to benefit their community.
To develop the modern version of these rituals in the San Francisco Bay Area, I recommend workshops at The Marsh. National hit shows by Brian Copeland, Dan Hoyle, Echo Brown, and many more were developed with and directed by Charlie Varon and David Ford at The Marsh.
From assistant teaching and developing three of my one man shows there, I learned The Marsh style of solo performance. I provide guidance and coaching mainly to actors and standup comedians but also storytellers needing theatricalization. I’ve customized the approach so regardless of comedy, drama, or craft, the stories are inhabited and rich with emotional life for the stage.
Online promotion for solo performance theaters is another area I’ve learned in-depth about so will share ideas and tips. I consulted on The Marsh’s social media for years and became their Marketing Advisor.
I’ll share tips for solo performance craft and social media promotion so visit here regularly.
Hope you find help here.
